Chief of Army Staff Emphasizes Protocol Excellence in Joint Operations

The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to professionalism and inter-agency cooperation, as the Army Headquarters Department of Special Services and Programmes commenced its Fourth Capacity Building Workshop on Protocol and Liaison Duties.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, who was represented by the Chief of Administration (Army), Major General Isa Abdullahi, spoke on the theme of the workshop, “Navigating the Complexities of Managing Protocol and Liaison Duties within a Joint and Multi-Agency Environment.” He stated that effective protocol management is vital in shaping the image and perception of the Nigerian Army, particularly in diplomatic engagements, ceremonial events, and collaborations with allied nations and other security agencies.

He further emphasized that in an increasingly complex security environment, the efficient handling of protocol and liaison duties remains essential to fostering synergy, enhancing mutual understanding, and projecting the professionalism of the Nigerian Army at both national and international levels.

Declaring the workshop open, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, commended the Department of Special Services and Programmes for organizing the workshop and expressed optimism that participants would gain valuable knowledge and skills to enhance their effectiveness in both domestic and international engagements.

The workshop brings together senior military officers, representatives of sister services, members of the diplomatic community, and other key stakeholders, underscoring the importance of collaboration in addressing the nation’s security and administrative challenges.
