Troops of the 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP) have continued their clampdown on militias, bandits, and other criminal elements within the Joint Operations Area (JOA). On 24 September 2025, the troops conducted an intelligence-driven operation at Manja, along the fringes of Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
In a statement, the Media Information Officer of JTF Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, disclosed that troops engaged armed bandits during the operation. The criminals, however, fled in disarray following the troops’ superior firepower.
Major Zhakom further revealed that during the exploitation of the general area, troops recovered an assorted rifle, ammunition, and two mobile phones abandoned by the fleeing criminals. He added that the recovered items are in custody for further action, while efforts are ongoing to track down and neutralise the escapees.
He emphasised that the troops’ operational alertness and readiness remain the foundation of such achievements, assuring that these efforts will be sustained to secure the JTF OPEP Joint Operations Area and bring perpetrators of violent crimes to justice.
