The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has reaffirmed its resolve to strengthen military cooperation between Nigeria and the Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville).
This assurance was given by the Commandant of the NDA, Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim, while hosting three allied cadets from Congo-Brazzaville as part of activities marking the country’s 56th Independence Anniversary.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammed Maidawa, the cadets Officer Cadet J.B. Komo, Cadet H.A. Ongoungou, and Cadet J.K.Y. Linguissi were honoured at a special reception where Major General Ibrahim underscored the importance of sustained military collaboration in tackling Africa’s evolving security threats.

The Commandant urged the visiting cadets to uphold the core values of discipline, integrity, and leadership, stressing that they must serve as worthy ambassadors of their nation. He further highlighted the NDA’s longstanding tradition of training officers from across the continent, including The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Liberia, a legacy that has firmly established the Academy as Africa’s foremost military training institution.
Reiterating the need for closer defence partnerships across the continent, Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim emphasized that enhanced cooperation among African armed forces is vital in addressing common security challenges.

The event was graced by senior military officers, including the Deputy Commandant, Air Vice Marshal A. Abdulkadir, alongside other principal staff officers of the Academy.
