The meeting provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue on areas of mutual interest, particularly in creating meaningful opportunities for young people, strengthening leadership development, and implementing capacity-building initiatives that prepare Nigerian youths to take on greater roles in national development.

In her remarks, the DEPOWA President outlined the core mission and activities of the Association, which is dedicated to supporting the welfare of military families, advancing women’s empowerment, and driving community-based projects that bring sustainable social impact. She stressed that empowering young people is central to building a stronger society and highlighted DEPOWA’s readiness to partner with government institutions to achieve this goal.

She further noted that the youth constitute a critical resource for national growth and, if given the right opportunities, can lead innovation, entrepreneurship, and positive transformation across the country.

Responding, the Minister of Youth Development, Hon. He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to formulating and implementing policies that would uplift Nigerian youths, strengthen their leadership potential, and prepare them for the future.

Both parties agreed on the importance of collaboration between government institutions and civil society organizations like DEPOWA in ensuring that young people are not only inspired to dream but also equipped with the necessary tools and platforms to innovate, lead, and create lasting change in their communities and the nation at large.

The visit was described as timely and strategic, reinforcing the need for partnerships that harness the energy, creativity, and resilience of Nigeria’s youth in the broader pursuit of sustainable development and national progress.
