The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its air operations in the North-East, delivering sustained and precise strikes against terrorist strongholds in Sambisa Forest and the Tumbuns under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Service disclosed that acting on credible intelligence, NAF aircraft carried out coordinated attack missions targeting insurgent enclaves. The operations resulted in the destruction of hideouts, disruption of logistics hubs, and the neutralisation of several fighters in a series of sustained strikes.
According to him, the Nigerian Air Force’s air assets executed a high-impact air interdiction mission at Alafa in the Sambisa axis, where confirmed terrorist infrastructure and supply nodes were successfully engaged and destroyed through successive bombardments.
He further revealed that NAF forces sustained the offensive with another decisive strike on terrorist positions at Metele in the Tumbuns. Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations had identified a fortified island stronghold with entrenched fighters, storage facilities, and defensive trench systems, which were subsequently struck and decimated with precision firepower.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the professionalism and combat effectiveness of NAF personnel, reaffirming the Service’s commitment to sustaining intensified operations until all terrorist threats are neutralised and national security is fully restored.
