Troops of the Joint Task Force (North-East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters, have sustained operations aimed at disrupting Boko Haram activities across Adamawa and Borno States.
In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, troops recorded several operational successes during coordinated missions.
According to the statement, troops of Sector 4 under the 28 Task Force Brigade on Thursday apprehended a 28-year-old suspected terrorist logistics supplier, Ismail Muhammed, in the Visik General Area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State. Items recovered from the suspect included one AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements and assorted foodstuffs.
The suspect is currently in custody undergoing further investigation.
In a related development in Madagali Local Government Area, troops of Sector 4 neutralised a terrorist commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa during an ambush operation along the Visik River line. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from the neutralised terrorist.
Acting on further intelligence, troops also arrested a 64-year-old suspected terrorist collaborator and drone supplier, Dauda Usman Gubula, at Madagali Motor Park. Recovered from him were two aerial drones, drone accessories and 20 solar power banks. Troops said efforts are being intensified to dismantle insurgent supply networks in the theatre.
Meanwhile, in Sector 2, troops of Operation HADIN KAI, working with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu, Borno State, and neutralised a suspected terrorist informant attempting to breach defensive positions. Logistic items were also recovered during the operation.
Military authorities noted that the ongoing operations form part of sustained efforts to disrupt Boko Haram supply lines, restore security and protect communities across the North-East. The Military High Command commended the troops for their sacrifices and dedication, urging them to maintain the current operational tempo in the fight against terrorism.
