DEFENCE MINISTER BADARU REPRESENTS NIGERIA AT INAUGURAL BAMAKO INTERNATIONAL DEFENCE AND SECURITY EXHIBITION (BAMEX 2025)

The Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, has arrived in Bamako, Mali, to participate in the maiden edition of the Bamako International Defence and Security Exhibition (BAMEX 2025).

According to a statement by the Personal Assistant (Media & Publicity) to the Honourable Minister, Mati Ali, the Minister was warmly received at the Military Wing of the Bamako International Airport by the Malian Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, General Sadio Camara, alongside senior officials of the Malian Armed Forces.

A colourful guard of honour was mounted in honour of the visiting Nigerian Defence Minister, marking the start of his official engagements in Mali.

Shortly after the reception, both Ministers held a brief strategic meeting centered on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation between Nigeria and Mali, while exploring new avenues for collaboration in promoting regional peace and security.

BAMEX 2025 provides a crucial platform for African countries and global defence partners to exchange ideas, showcase innovations in defence technology, and strengthen alliances to tackle emerging security challenges across the continent.
