The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, on Tuesday, 23 September 2025, received members of the Northern Bridge Builders Forum on a courtesy visit at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.
In a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the team leader, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) for their immense contributions to peace, unity, and stability across the country. He said the forum stands firmly with the AFN and particularly applauded its efforts in restoring security, which has enabled farmers to return to their fields and boost agricultural production.
Senator Ikenya further distanced the forum from negative criticisms of the military by what he described as “uninformed individuals,” urging the AFN to sustain its momentum in the fight against insecurity. He cited the significant improvement in security along the Abuja–Kaduna highway as a clear example of the military’s success.
In his response, the CDS expressed appreciation for the forum’s solidarity and encouragement, assuring that the AFN remains resolute and committed to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.
General Musa also praised the forum’s diverse membership, describing them as patriotic Nigerians dedicated to building bridges of peace and unity across the nation.
