Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have dealt a major blow to terrorist logistics networks with the interception of a large cache of supplies cleverly concealed in a trailer in Yobe State.
In a statement by the Media Information Officer, OPHK, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the operation was carried out on 16 September 2025, at about 7:40 a.m., when troops under Operation DESERT SANITY IV, acting on credible intelligence, conducted snap checks along the Nguru–Gashua road. A red 14-tyre trailer laden with suspicious consignments was stopped, moved to a secured location, and carefully offloaded.
By 9:00 p.m. the same day, inspection revealed a staggering haul of 700 bags of NPK 20:10:10 fertilizer (a key material for making improvised explosive devices), 27 cartons of assorted drugs, and nine cartons of normal saline solution, all neatly hidden beneath bundles of fabric materials.
The consignment, reportedly billed for onward movement to Niger Republic, points to a cross-border supply chain sustaining terrorist activities. Earlier that same day at 10:30 a.m., troops on the same axis had intercepted two Sharon vehicles and another trailer transporting large quantities of fabrics and solar panels. Intelligence suggests terrorists sought to use the fabrics for producing uniforms for their fighters.
All drivers, motor boys, and recovered items are currently in custody, with investigations underway to track down the identified consignees and consignors. The Theatre Command assured the public of continued vigilance, stressing that cutting off terrorist logistics remains a top priority.
The Military High Command has commended the troops for their alertness and operational excellence, while urging the public to keep providing timely intelligence to aid ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
