The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has expressed deep sorrow over the recent Boko Haram attack in Biu Emirate, Borno State, which claimed the lives of dozens of people, including Nigerian soldiers deployed to protect lives and property.

In a condolence message issued to the press, the Foundation extended its sympathies to the families of the victims, the people of Biu Emirate, and the Borno State Government over the tragic incident, which reportedly occurred at a work site in the North-East region.

The statement, signed by the Chairman of the Foundation, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi/Betara Biu, conveyed the message of the Grand Patron of the Foundation, former Chief of Army Staff, Ambassador Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai CFR (Rtd).

General Buratai described the attack as a senseless and barbaric act of violence, noting that it was yet another painful reminder of the inhumanity associated with terrorism.

He lamented the loss of innocent and hardworking citizens whose efforts were geared towards contributing to the development of their communities, stressing that such acts of violence undermine peace and stability in the region.

General Buratai, however, commended the prompt and courageous response of the Nigerian military, praising their resilience and unwavering commitment to national security despite the risks involved. He paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, describing their sacrifice as a noble service to the nation, and prayed for the repose of their souls.

He further called on Nigerians to remain united and resolute in confronting the challenges of insecurity, emphasizing the need for collective responsibility and community cooperation in the fight against terrorism and violence.

The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace, unity, security, and humanitarian support across the country. It urged leaders and citizens alike to work together to rebuild affected communities and sustain hope for a safer and more prosperous future.

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation concluded by offering prayers for the bereaved families and for lasting peace in Borno State and Nigeria as a whole.
