The Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, has assured Defence Holdings Company Limited (DHCL) of his administration’s readiness to partner with the company to ensure the successful take-off of the Defence Farms and Agro-Allied Products (DFAAP) initiative in Wase Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Mutfwang gave the assurance on Tuesday, 28 January 2026, while receiving the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DHCL, Air Vice Marshal Anthony Victor Ndace, and his delegation at the Government House, Jos.
In a statement issued by the Director, Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, the Governor, who was represented at the meeting by the Secretary to the State Government, Architect Samuel Jatau, expressed appreciation for DHCL’s vision and intervention in the agricultural sector. He reaffirmed the Plateau State Government’s commitment to the immediate handover of the 30,000 hectares of land already allocated to DHCL at Wase to enable the commencement of the Defence Farms project.
According to the Governor, the initiative would significantly boost food production, create economic opportunities, and enhance security in Wase and neighbouring communities. He also commended the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, for his sustained efforts toward national stability and reiterated the resolve of his administration to work closely with DHCL and the Defence Headquarters to ensure seamless implementation of the project.
Governor Mutfwang further wished the DHCL delegation a pleasant stay in the state and encouraged them to explore Plateau State’s rich cultural heritage and diverse landscape.
Earlier in his remarks, the GMD/CEO of DHCL, Air Vice Marshal Anthony Victor Ndace, said he was in Plateau State on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff to appreciate the state government for allocating 30,000 hectares of land at Wase for the initial phase of the Defence Farms and Agro-Allied Products initiative. He disclosed that he was accompanied by a technical team to assess the land and identify areas of collaboration with the state government in line with the Federal Government’s food security agenda.
Air Vice Marshal Ndace thanked the Plateau State Government for the warm reception accorded his team and prayed for sustained peace and continued development across the state.
Highlights of the visit included a presentation on the agricultural potential of the 98,000 hectares of land at Wase of which 30,000 hectares has been designated for the first phase of DFAAP exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph involving Plateau State Government officials and members of the DHCL delegation.
