Troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force, Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP), have recorded a major success in Plateau State with the arrest of armed militias and recovery of weapons during an offensive operation in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area on 19 September 2025. The operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of criminals who had earlier set huts ablaze in Jamrop Village.
According to a statement by the Media Information Officer, JTF Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, the technology-enabled operation led to the interception of 15 armed militias, the recovery of 15 fabricated rifles, 105 cartridges, and other sundry items.
The suspects and recovered weapons are currently in custody, while troops are intensifying efforts to track down other fleeing members of the group.
The statement reaffirmed that 3 Division/JTF OPEP remains committed to securing the Joint Operations Area and dismantling criminal networks threatening peace and security in Plateau State.
