The Acting Director, Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Colonel Apollonia Anele, has decorated Major Saleh Buba with his new rank of Lieutenant Colonel at a ceremony held on Thursday, 16 April 2026, at the Headquarters of the Directorate in Abuja.
Speaking during the event, Colonel Anele congratulated the officer on his promotion and commended his dedication to duty. She urged him to maintain the highest standards of discipline, professionalism and loyalty to the Nigerian Army, noting that his elevation comes with greater responsibilities, higher expectations and more complex leadership demands.
Also addressing the gathering, the Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, described the promotion as a reward for hard work, discipline and distinguished service. He encouraged the newly promoted officer to continue upholding the core values and professional standards of the Nigerian Army.
In his response, Lieutenant Colonel Saleh Buba expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for the promotion. He also appreciated the Acting Director Army Public Relations for her guidance and leadership, pledging continued loyalty and commitment to duty.
The ceremony was attended by senior military officers, soldiers, family members and other invited guests.
