In a statement issued by the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, the AFN reaffirmed its commitment to national security and the protection of citizens through sustained kinetic and non-kinetic operations in all theatres across Nigeria. Kangye noted that the operations demonstrate the military’s collective resolve to confront emerging threats, enhance stability, and create a secure environment for economic growth while ensuring transparency and professionalism in its engagements.

One of the most significant achievements during the week was recorded in the South-South region, where troops of Operation Delta Safe foiled illegal oil bunkering activities valued at ₦224,420,000. They also dismantled 21 crude oil cooking ovens, nine dugout pits, seven boats, 11 storage tanks, and six illegal refining sites. Eight suspects were arrested, and assorted weapons were recovered during the operations.

In the North West, troops sustained offensive operations that led to the elimination of several terrorists, the arrest of eight suspects, and the rescue of 33 kidnapped victims in Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, and Sokoto States. The troops also recovered two brand-new motorcycles, mobile phones, and ₦3,000,000 believed to be ransom money intended for the release of victims.

Similarly, in the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai maintained momentum against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists, neutralizing several insurgents, arresting nine, and rescuing three kidnapped victims. The operations, conducted across Bama, Damboa, Konduga, Gwoza, Ngala, and Kukawa in Borno State, as well as Gombi and Tongo in Adamawa State, also led to the recovery of various weapons and destruction of terrorist camps. Between 4–6 October, twelve terrorist collaborators and informants were apprehended in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa States with vehicles, drugs, petroleum products, and logistics items seized from them.

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace in the North Central region conducted successful raids and responded to distress calls in Plateau and Kaduna States. The operations resulted in the elimination of extremists, arrest of seven suspects, and rescue of two kidnapped victims. Weapons, ammunition, motorcycles, vehicles, and ₦1,300,000 in cash were also recovered.

In related developments, troops under Operation Whirl Stroke intensified their offensive actions in Taraba, Kogi, Benue, and Nasarawa States, where they neutralized criminals, arrested three suspects, and rescued two kidnapped victims during coordinated operations.

Meanwhile, in the South East, troops of Operation Udo Ka sustained their offensive posture, neutralizing a notorious terrorist and arresting a wanted IPOB/ESN commander identified as Uche Okafor, also known as Whipper, along with four accomplices. Weapons, vehicles, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered during the operation conducted across Imo, Abia, Anambra, and Enugu States. Four additional criminals were also arrested in follow-up raids.

Major General Kangye emphasized that all the operations were conducted with precision and in line with global standards to minimize collateral damage and safeguard civilian populations. He added that the success recorded reflects the dedication, professionalism, and resilience of Nigerian troops who remain on the frontlines in defence of the nation.

The Defence Headquarters reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the tempo of operations and assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces will continue to deny terrorists, insurgents, bandits, and other criminal elements the freedom to operate anywhere within the country.
