In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the coordinated operations were carried out with close air support from the Air Component and in collaboration with local security outfits across Gujba, Gubio, Sabsawa, Whumtakum in Chibok Local Government Area (LGA), Mandarari in Konduga LGA, Gajigana in Magumeri LGA, as well as Konduga, Banki, and Loskori Kura in Mafa LGA.
The operations led to the recovery of AK-47 rifles, Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) tubes and bombs, a large cache of 7.62mm ammunition, and other logistics items belonging to the terrorists. Troops also safely detonated several Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and intercepted 242 bags of NPK fertilizer, which were believed to be destined for use in manufacturing IEDs.
Lieutenant Colonel Uba further stated that the week-long offensives have denied terrorists freedom of action and curtailed their supply chains, thereby creating a more secure environment for socio-economic activities across the region.
He added that the military high command has commended the troops for their resilience, determination, and professionalism, while assuring them of continuous support in sustaining the momentum of the counter-insurgency operations.
