In a statement signed by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jonathan Eze, the Minister described the win a hard-fought triumph over host nation Morocco as a monumental moment not just for football, but for the entire nation.

With this victory, the Super Falcons clinched their historic 10th WAFCON title, solidifying Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.

Hon. Imaan hailed the team’s courage, discipline, and unwavering resilience, calling the win a shining symbol of what Nigerian women are capable of achieving.

“This is more than a football victory,” she said. “It is a celebration of the power, leadership, and indomitable spirit of the Nigerian woman.

The Super Falcons have inspired millions by showing the world that when Nigerian women rise, they rise with power and purpose.

”She applauded the players for their unity, grace under pressure, and the inspiration they offer to young girls across the country.

She also acknowledged the critical role played by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose support to the team and the Nigerian sports ecosystem under the Renewed Hope Agenda was described as “unprecedented.

”“As Minister of Women Affairs, I am beyond proud,” she added. “Tonight, every girl in Nigeria can dream a little bigger. You’ve not only brought home a trophy you’ve lifted an entire nation.”

The Ministry of Women Affairs, she emphasized, remains unwavering in its commitment to promoting policies and programmes that uplift and empower Nigerian women and girls in sports and every sphere of life.
