In a colourful and heartwarming ceremony, the Nigerian Navy Secondary School (NNSS), Abeokuta, has hosted the Passing Out Parade (POP) for the 2024/2025 academic session on Saturday, 26th July 2025.The event, held at the school’s parade ground, marked the graduation of 151 students belonging to the 31st set.
The Special Guest of Honour and Reviewing Officer, the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Mustapha Gbenga Oamen, Grand Service Star (GSS), who was represented by the Commander Naval Base Epe, Captain Sunday Ovie Ohunenese. In his goodwill message, congratulated the graduating students on their academic milestone and charged them to remain steadfast, disciplined, and purpose-driven as they step into a new phase of life.
He also lauded the Commandant, Commander Oluwafemi Wasiu Toba-Ogunmola, for his excellent leadership and administrative prowess, commending the dedication of officers, ratings, teachers, and parents in shaping the academic and moral foundation of the students.

One of the key highlights of the ceremony was a captivating silent drill display by the graduating students, which drew applause from the audience. Awards were presented to outstanding students in academics and conduct.
Also, members of the Ex-Navy Boys of 1995 Detachment made a generous donation of plaques and cash prizes. These were presented to the best-performing student in each subject, the best teacher, and the top three scorers in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The event attracted dignitaries, including a representative of the Alake of Egbaland, esteemed officials from paramilitary agencies, proud parents, and guardians. It concluded with group photographs, reunions, and a warm reception.
The POP was not just a farewell, but a celebration of discipline, dedication, and the promise of a brighter future for the graduating class of 2025.
