As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen logistics, medical support, and overall combat readiness within the Nigerian Army, Commanders of the Combat Service Support (CSS) Corps have commenced a four-day operational visit to Headquarters Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK). The visit, scheduled from 26 to 29 November 2025, is aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness across the North East theatre.
According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force North East OPHK, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the delegation includes the Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST), Major General Nansak Shagaya; Corps Commander Ordnance (CCO), Major General Abdullahi Ibrahim; Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (CC EME), Major General Adeyinka Adereti; and Commander Corps of Medical (CC Medical), Brigadier General Innocent Enwuchola.
The Commanders were received on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, by the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East OPHK, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, at Headquarters Theatre Command, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Major General Shagaya appreciated the warm reception and commended troops of OPHK for their sacrifices in counter-insurgency operations. He stated that the visit was designed to conduct an operational logistics assessment and evaluate the current capabilities required to sustain ongoing and future operations.
He acknowledged the significant successes recorded so far, urging troops to remain resolute and maintain momentum despite prevailing challenges. He also described the Theatre Commander’s briefing as “insightful and highly commendable.”
In their separate remarks, the CSS Commanders praised the Theatre Commander for his leadership, particularly in enhancing maintenance culture and ensuring efficient logistics support across the theatre. They assured him that all observations, requests, and recommendations from the assessment would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for action.
Brigadier General Enwuchola, Commander Medical Corps, commended OPHK troops for their gallantry and dedication in stabilising security in the region. He revealed that plans were underway to upgrade the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital (7 DMSH) to align with modern medical standards.
Similarly, the Corps Commander Ordnance, Major General Ibrahim, stressed the critical importance of logistics in military operations. He assured that identified gaps had been noted and would receive strategic intervention to improve operational outcomes.
Major General Adereti, Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, applauded OPHK’s resilience in neutralising terrorists and disrupting their logistics networks. He emphasised that equipment maintenance remains a command responsibility and encouraged commanders to maximise the capacity of EME personnel to keep platforms fully serviceable.
Responding, the Theatre Commander, Major General Abubakar, thanked the commanders for the visit and reaffirmed the pivotal role of logistics in achieving operational success. He expressed confidence that the assessment would further strengthen OPHK’s combat support and service support capabilities, while pledging sustained collaboration.
The four-day operational assessment will cover Headquarters 7 Division, Sector 1, as well as Sectors 2 and 3 of Operation HADIN KAI.
Highlights of the visit included comprehensive briefings, exchange of souvenirs, and group photographs.
