NDLEA BOSS BRIGADIER RETIRED GENERAL MARWA PAYS TRIBUTE TO LATE PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohamed Retired Buba Marwa, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, describing him as a statesman, patriot, and servant-leader who dedicated his entire life to the service of the nation.

In a tribute released on Monday, 14th July 2025, Brig Gen Marwa highlighted the remarkable legacy of the late President, noting that his years in office both as military Head of State and later as a democratically elected leader were characterized by unwavering commitment to duty, personal discipline, and a tireless pursuit of national stability and integrity.

“Former President Buhari will be remembered for his steadfast efforts to restore discipline in governance and his pursuit of security and stability during some of the most challenging periods in our national history,” Marwa stated. “His administration championed infrastructural development, advanced agricultural reforms, and laid the foundation for national self-sufficiency.”

He lauded Buhari’s calm leadership style, moral conviction, and ability to inspire trust, even in uncertain times. “His integrity, simplicity, and personal discipline set him apart as a leader whose actions often spoke louder than words,” he added. “He returned to power with a vision of national rebirth and carried it with uncommon determination.”

According to him, beyond the political realm, Brig Gen Marwa reflected on the former President’s humility and deep faith, describing him as “a man of principle, guided by a strong moral compass and a genuine concern for the well-being of ordinary Nigerians.”

“As we mourn his passing, we extend heartfelt condolences to his beloved family,” he said. “We stand with them in grief, offering our thoughts, prayers, and support during this time of profound loss. His legacy shall continue to inspire generations to come, and history will remember him kindly.”

He concluded with a solemn prayer: “May the Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, grant the soul of our departed leader Al-Jannah Firdaus.”
