In a strategic move to drive indigenous aerospace innovation and enhance national technological self-reliance, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has participated in the 7th Research and Innovation Fair of Lagos State University (LASU), held from 8–9 October 2025 in Lagos.

The engagement underscores the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, to promote synergy between the NAF and academic institutions in advancing local research and innovation for effective and sustainable airpower delivery.

Representing the CAS, the Chief of Transformation and Innovation, Air Vice Marshal Adeniyi Amensilola, reaffirmed that NAF’s collaboration with LASU remains instrumental to building indigenous technical expertise and driving innovation-led solutions. He described the fair as a vital platform for knowledge exchange and partnership, reflecting the Air Force’s commitment to achieving operational excellence through locally driven technological advancements.

Themed “Promoting the Quadruple Helix Collaboration: Government, University, Industries and Community,” the fair aligns with the NAF’s strategic focus on integrating academic research into its operational and technological framework.

This initiative builds on the renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between NAF and LASU on 17 May 2025, which strengthens a productive relationship established in 2013. Through this ongoing partnership, the NAF continues to expand its research and development efforts, leveraging innovation, academic collaboration, and cutting-edge technology to sustain superior airpower delivery.
