The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Component of the Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, has recorded a significant operational success following precision air interdiction missions carried out on 14 November 2025 at the notorious Sauri bandit enclave in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was launched after credible intelligence and surveillance confirmed heightened terrorist activities, including the concealment of large numbers of rustled livestock on an elevated hideout used by the criminals as a defensive fortress and logistics hub.

Acting on the intelligence, the Air Component executed multiple coordinated strikes on the identified targets, delivering accurate hits that forced surviving terrorists to flee into surrounding vegetation, where they were immediately tracked and neutralised.

The strikes resulted in the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of vital structures and logistics points, substantially weakening the criminals’ operational capacity. This outcome aligns with the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who has repeatedly assured Nigerians that the NAF will “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”

The operation further underscores the determination of Operation FANSAN YAMMA and the NAF to deny terrorists freedom of action, enhance security in Zamfara State, and contribute to broader national efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace across the North West.
