The visit, according to a statement by the Media Information Officer of OPHK, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, was aimed at evaluating the performance of armour personnel deployed in the theatre.
While addressing troops and senior officers, the Commandant praised the Theatre Commander and personnel of OPHK for their dedication and perseverance in safeguarding lives and property in the North East. He noted the professionalism of the troops and the relatively peaceful atmosphere in Maiduguri, attributing it to their sustained efforts against insurgents.
He explained that the visit was also to reaffirm the support of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps (NAAC) and to identify operational gaps with a view to improving the effectiveness of armour personnel in the theatre. Major General Ahmed expressed satisfaction with the consistent feedback received on the performance of NAAS-trained personnel and assured continued provision of adequate platforms, as well as the sustenance of modular rotation for armour crews.
