In a clear demonstration of leadership with a human face, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda, has once again reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to staff welfare describing it as the heartbeat of the Ministry’s administrative vision.

Speaking during the commissioning of a newly refurbished staff bus at the Ministry’s headquarters, Ship House, Abuja, Ambassador Aduda stated that the gesture goes beyond transportation. It symbolizes the Ministry’s broader mission to create a work environment that values and supports its people.

“This refurbished bus is not just a means of transport; it is a bold expression of our determination to improve the daily experience of our workforce,” he said. “We will not relent in rolling out initiatives that uplift morale, promote staff well-being, and drive organisational excellence.”

The upgraded vehicle is part of a phased transportation initiative aimed at easing daily commuting difficulties and reducing stress among employees. It is also one of many people-focused interventions the Ministry is implementing under Ambassador Aduda’s leadership.

In a statement signed by Patience Ituke, Principal Superintendent of Press, for the Director of Information and Public Relations, the Permanent Secretary reiterated that meaningful progress in governance must begin with attention to those who serve.

The atmosphere at the event was one of excitement and gratitude, as directors, union leaders, and staff members witnessed the unveiling of the bus.

Applauding the Permanent Secretary’s proactive approach, they described the initiative as timely, thoughtful, and deeply impactful.

Staff representatives also pledged their renewed commitment to the Ministry’s goals, commending Ambassador Aduda for championing a culture of care, motivation, and operational support.

With more interventions expected in the coming months, the Ministry of Defence is setting the tone for a more engaged and empowered public service workforce.
