The office of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation is a key arm of the administration’s agenda to improve social welfare, empower vulnerable citizens, and promote equitable access to opportunities.
Before his appointment, Hon. Johnson Adamu served as the Coordinator of the Edo Must Build Edo Initiative (EMBEI)—a reputable grassroots support group recognized by the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Under his leadership, the group became a rallying point for political enlightenment, civic participation, and the promotion of progressive ideals in Edo State.
Hon. Adamu’s track record of service and leadership speaks for itself. He has been deeply involved in community development and humanitarian efforts, with numerous initiatives focused on youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and poverty reduction. His advocacy for good governance, social justice, and sustainable development has earned him respect among stakeholders within and beyond Edo State.
As a philanthropist, he has consistently demonstrated empathy and a commitment to uplifting the less privileged. His community-based projects and outreach programs have touched the lives of many, providing hope and tangible support to widows, orphans, and unemployed youths.
In his new capacity, Hon. Adamu is expected to bring his wealth of experience and passion for humanity to bear in advancing the Governor’s people-oriented vision. His responsibilities will include coordinating humanitarian interventions, facilitating collaboration with local and international development partners, and designing innovative strategies to alleviate poverty in both urban and rural communities.
Political observers and community leaders have described the appointment as both timely and well-deserved, noting that Hon. Adamu embodies the values of integrity, service, and dedication that the Okpebholo administration stands for. Many expressed optimism that his appointment will reinvigorate Edo State’s humanitarian and poverty alleviation programmes, ensuring that government efforts reach those who need them most.
The appointment of Hon. Johnson Jubril Adamu adds to Governor Okpebholo’s growing team of trusted advisers, carefully selected to drive effective governance and deliver meaningful change. As he assumes duty, expectations are high that his tenure will usher in renewed hope, stronger community engagement, and lasting social impact across Edo State.
