By Clara Dabo

In a significant move to blend technology with public safety, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched its user-friendly FRSC Mobile App, designed to transform the way Nigerians access road safety services.

The development was disclosed in a statement signed by Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, Corps Public Education Officer, at the FRSC Headquarters in Abuja.

Available for download on the Google Play Store, the FRSC Mobile App offers Nigerians a digital one-stop hub for accessing critical road safety tools and services.

The app enables users to renew their driver’s licences from the comfort of their homes or offices, verify the authenticity of vehicle number plates and licences, and receive real-time safety alerts such as speed limit violations and crash-prone zone warnings. It also features a live streaming function for National Traffic Radio 107.1 FM, allowing users to stay informed with up-to-date traffic information, safety campaigns, and emergency broadcasts.

In addition, the app enables users to report traffic crashes, road obstructions, and any misconduct by FRSC personnel for immediate response.

Speaking on the innovation, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed described the app as a milestone in FRSC’s ongoing digital transformation drive, aimed at improving service delivery and reducing road traffic incidents across the country.

“This is not just a technological upgrade; it’s a life-saving tool,” he said. “It brings FRSC services closer to the people, strengthens accountability, and provides instant access to vital road use information from any location.”

He emphasized that with the rising challenges on Nigeria’s highways, the app represents a timely and strategic intervention. It aligns with the Corps’ commitment to proactive engagement, safety education, and smarter road use solutions.

The Corps Marshal further noted that in today’s digital world, ignorance is no longer an excuse for unsafe driving practices or expired documentation.

With the app, motorists can remain informed, compliant, and safe all with a few taps on their smartphones.

FRSC is calling on all road users, including motorists, commuters, fleet managers, and logistics operators, to download and make active use of the mobile application.

The Corps reiterated that road safety is a shared responsibility, and with this app, protection and compliance are now more accessible than ever.
