FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH TRANSFORMS LIVES OF OVER 2,000 BENEFICIARIES IN SOUTHERN KADUNA

More than 2,000 residents of Southern Kaduna have benefitted from a two-day free medical outreach organised in honour of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR.

The exercise, held on Thursday, 4 and Friday, 5 September 2025, at the Primary Health Care Centre, Mabuhu Zonzon, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was jointly organised by the TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation, the Tukur & Tukur Foundation, and the Southern Kaduna Aids Foundation (SKAID).

In a press statement signed by the Chairman of the TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani (Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi/Betara Biu), organisers confirmed that a total of 2,062 people accessed various medical services.

The outreach covered free consultations, treatment and drug provision, eye screening and care, ENT (ear, nose and throat) services, as well as the distribution of reading glasses. Mobile clinics and specialist medical teams were also deployed to support the initiative.

Declaring the programme open on behalf of His Highness Sir Dominic Yahaya, Agwam Atyap, Eliasha Angani Sarkin Shanu Atyab praised the initiative, describing it as a lifeline for the community.

Speaking on behalf of beneficiaries, Jummai Digga expressed gratitude to Amb. Lt-Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (CFR, rtd.) and the partner organisations.

“We thank His Excellency Amb. Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai for recognising the good people of Southern Kaduna and for honouring the Chief of Defence Staff’s grassroots policies. This outreach has brought relief to many families,” she said.

Dr. Yakubu Titus John, Medical Director of the General Hospital Zangon Kataf, also applauded the organisers, noting: “Bringing quality healthcare services to the people makes a real difference. I commend the standard of the outreach and the medications provided.”The initiative was spearheaded by the leadership of the three foundations: Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani for the TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation; Col. Haruna Idris Zaria (rtd.) for the Tukur & Tukur Foundation; and R/Adm. Ferguson Bobai (rtd.) for SKAID.

They stressed that the outreach reflects people-centred leadership inspired by the CDS and reaffirmed their commitment to sustain similar interventions across underserved communities.

The most common conditions treated included Hepatitis B, dermatitis (body rashes), eye cataracts, and sickle-cell disease.

The organisers reaffirmed their resolve to sustain such collaborative interventions across Nigeria to expand access to both basic and specialist healthcare services, especially in underserved communities.
