The Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), under the leadership of its President, Mrs Oghogho Musa, continues to strengthen partnerships aimed at promoting the welfare of military families and supporting the Armed Forces.

On Monday, 1 September 2025, Mrs Musa paid a working visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, at the Naval Headquarters (NHQ), Abuja.

The visit was part of DEPOWA’s efforts to seek collaboration with the Nigerian Navy in driving the Association’s intervention programmes, particularly its flagship initiative, “Thank You to Our Troops.”

The initiative is designed to appreciate the sacrifices of officers and men of the Armed Forces while boosting their morale as they continue to defend the nation.

In her remarks, Mrs Musa reiterated DEPOWA’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of military personnel, their families, and host communities through empowerment programmes, humanitarian outreach, and advocacy.

She expressed appreciation to the CNS for the Navy’s existing support and appealed for further collaboration in expanding the reach and impact of DEPOWA projects.

In response, Vice Admiral Ogalla commended DEPOWA’s vision and dedication, describing the “Thank You to Our Troops” initiative as both noble and timely.

He assured that the Nigerian Navy would continue to partner with DEPOWA in ensuring the success of its programmes, which directly impact service members and their dependents.

Through visits such as this, DEPOWA reaffirms its role as a vital support system for the Armed Forces community, working hand in hand with the Services to uplift lives and inspire hope.
