The Minister of State for Defence, H.E. Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, MON, has condemned the attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, in the Zuru Emirate of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, which resulted in the killing of the Vice Principal, Malam Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and the abduction of students.
In a statement issued by the Assistant Director, Information and Public Relations, Renderline Chukwu, on behalf of the Director, Information and Public Relations, the Minister described the attack as unacceptable. He directed security agencies to immediately coordinate efforts to locate and ensure the safe rescue of the 25 abducted students.
Dr. Matawalle stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has ordered the full deployment of security assets to secure the release of the students without harm. He further urged security forces to intensify operations and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Minister appealed for calm in the affected communities, assuring residents that the Federal Government and security agencies are working urgently to address the situation.
He also extended condolences to the family of the late Vice Principal and others affected by the incident, praying for Allah’s mercy and comfort for the bereaved family.
