COAS REASSURES KOGI OF SUSTAINED MILITARY OPERATIONS, VOWS TO DEPLOY ALL RESOURCES AGAINST SECURITY THREATS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Nigerian Army Medal, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unwavering resolve to deploy all necessary resources to tackle prevailing security threats in Kogi State and across the country.

In a statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Army Chief gave the assurance on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, during a courtesy visit by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.

Lieutenant General Shaibu stressed the Army’s continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property, noting that troops are sustaining an aggressive operational tempo aimed at neutralising emerging threats and restoring stability nationwide.

He reiterated the readiness of the Nigerian Army to deepen strategic partnerships with state governments in order to strengthen security frameworks and entrench lasting peace.

Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, in his remarks, congratulated the COAS on his appointment as the 25th Chief of Army Staff, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his capacity and tested leadership. He also expressed gratitude to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for appointing Lieutenant General Shaibu at a critical period in the nation’s security evolution.

The Governor commended the Nigerian Army for its steadfast contributions to national security, acknowledging the complexity of the threats confronting the country.

He pledged the full support of the Kogi State Government for ongoing and future military operations aimed at ensuring peace and safety in the state.
