The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has lauded the troops of the 31 Artillery Brigade, Minna, for their resilience, professionalism and unwavering commitment to maintaining security within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility.
In a statement by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, Lieutenant General Shaibu gave the commendation, while addressing frontline troops during an operational visit to the Brigade.
The Army Chief praised the soldiers for their doggedness in the face of evolving security challenges, noting that their efforts have continued to contribute significantly to stability in the area. He assured the troops that the Nigerian Army leadership remains committed to improving their welfare, adding that he had been fully briefed on challenges relating to accommodation and other critical facilities affecting soldiers and their families.
General Shaibu urged the personnel to sustain the highest standards of professionalism in the conduct of their duties, while also emphasizing the importance of respecting fundamental human rights in line with the provisions of the United Nations Charter.
He further charged the troops to remain firm, vigilant and decisive in confronting terrorist elements operating in areas such as Shiroro, Rijau and other parts of the Brigade’s operational environment.
To further enhance morale and operational effectiveness, the COAS directed the construction and renovation of accommodation and essential infrastructure for troops and their families.
