The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has congratulated officers, soldiers, civilian staff of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, and Nigerians at large on the occasion of this year’s Eid el-Maulud celebration.
In a statement issued by the Acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the CDS described the Maulud, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as a solemn period of reflection, urging all to emulate the Prophet’s exemplary life of compassion, service, and humility.
General Musa called on personnel of the Armed Forces and all Nigerians to use the occasion to reinforce the values of unity, loyalty, and commitment. He drew inspiration from the Prophet’s mission of hope and goodwill, stressing the need to uphold peaceful coexistence and optimism. “As the Prophet brought hope and good tidings to the world, so must we promote harmony, strengthen our bonds, and continue to serve with integrity, professionalism, and dedication,” the CDS said.
Reassuring Nigerians, the Defence Chief reiterated the Armed Forces’ unwavering commitment to preserving national unity, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring peaceful coexistence across the country. He affirmed that under his leadership, the military remains resolute in its constitutional duty to safeguard lives and support the nation’s collective progress.
General Musa concluded by urging Nigerians to imbibe the Prophet’s virtues of tolerance, compassion, and humility as the nation continues to strive for peace, stability, and development.
