The Nigerian Army has commissioned a newly constructed Arrival Hall, Officer’s Office, and Conference Room at the Army Headquarters Garrison Provost Group, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja, as part of efforts to enhance infrastructure, promote professionalism, and improve the welfare of personnel.
The commissioning ceremony, attended by senior military officers, dignitaries, and invited guests, underscored the Nigerian Army’s continued commitment to creating a conducive working environment that supports operational excellence and troop morale.
The Special Guest of Honour, Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General Maxwell Dangana, commended the leadership of the Provost Group for its foresight and dedication to the welfare of personnel. He praised the initiative as a reflection of the Nigerian Army’s broader vision of discipline, professionalism, and service excellence.
“This project clearly reflects the leadership philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General O.O. Oluyede, whose vision emphasizes adding value to the Nigerian Army through innovation, commitment, and improved welfare for personnel,” Major General Dangana stated.
He urged officers and soldiers to make judicious use of the newly commissioned facilities, uphold the core values of the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police — discipline, integrity, vigilance, and professionalism — and ensure proper maintenance of the structures for long-term use.
In his remarks, Acting Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison Provost Group, Colonel Simeon Tije, expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Nigerian Army for its continuous support. He described the newly commissioned facilities as a major milestone in the Group’s drive to promote operational efficiency, discipline, and the welfare of its personnel.
“These structures are not merely physical developments but powerful statements of our collective dedication to excellence, professionalism, and operational efficiency within the Nigerian Army,” Colonel Tije said.
He explained that the new Arrival Hall will serve as a reception point for newly posted personnel, while the Officer’s Office provides an improved work environment for administrative and operational coordination. He added that the Conference Room will serve as a central hub for meetings, briefings, and professional engagements aimed at enhancing teamwork and responsiveness.
Colonel Tije further thanked officers, soldiers, and contractors who contributed to the successful completion of the project, noting that it was conceived to address accommodation and office space challenges within the Provost Group.
The event featured the cutting of the ribbon, unveiling of a commemorative plaque, a guided tour of the new facilities, presentation of souvenirs, and a group photograph to mark the occasion.
The ceremony concluded with renewed commitment by the Nigerian Army to continue improving the welfare, professionalism, and discipline of its personnel in line with the vision of the Chief of Army Staff.
