The Air Force War College Nigeria (AFWCN) has decorated nine senior officers recently promoted from the rank of Wing Commander to Group Captain, marking a significant milestone in their professional careers and recognizing their commitment, loyalty, and exceptional service to the nation.
In his remarks, the Commandant of the College, Air Vice Marshal P.B. Phillips, congratulated the newly promoted officers and described their elevation as a reward for hard work, dedication, and professionalism. He charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating exemplary leadership, integrity, and renewed commitment to service. AVM Phillips further urged them to remain worthy ambassadors of the College and the Nigerian Air Force wherever they serve.
Also speaking, the President Mess Committee congratulated the officers and encouraged them to uphold the values of discipline, humility, and excellence. He reminded them that higher ranks come with greater responsibilities, which must be discharged with honor and selflessness.
The newly decorated officers, joined by their families, friends, and colleagues, expressed profound appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff and the Nigerian Air Force leadership for recognizing their contributions. They pledged to remain steadfast in their duties and to continue upholding the core values of the Service.
The colourful ceremony, held at the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Mess, Makurdi, was graced by the Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, Air Vice Marshal P.O. Obeya; the Commandant, AFWCN, Air Vice Marshal P.B. Phillips; the President Mess Committee (PMC); as well as retired senior officers, Major General T.O. Umar and Brigadier General S.K. Usman.
