The Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has joined other top defence leaders at the Governing Board Meeting of the National Defence College in Abuja to deliberate on strengthening strategic military education and national security coordination.
The meeting, held on 2 April 2026, was attended by the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, alongside other Service Chiefs and senior military officials.
Deliberations at the session focused on reviewing the College’s training objectives and aligning its academic programmes with Nigeria’s evolving security landscape. Participants also explored measures to enhance inter-agency collaboration in addressing emerging national security challenges.
The board meeting provided a strategic platform for assessing the effectiveness of existing defence education frameworks while identifying areas for improvement to meet contemporary operational demands.
The session was hosted by the Commandant of the College, Abdullahi Ahmed, highlighting the institution’s role as Nigeria’s apex centre for strategic military education and a hub for national security policy development.
