The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Benue State Government have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic security collaboration to address prevailing threats and enhance the protection of lives and property.
This formed the focus of a courtesy visit by the Deputy Governor of Benue State, Barrister Sam Ode, to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force in Abuja on March 24, 2026.
During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of sustained civil-military cooperation in tackling emerging security challenges. They noted that closer collaboration between the military and sub-national authorities remains critical in promoting public safety and supporting ongoing counter-insurgency and internal security operations.
The discussions also highlighted the need for coordinated efforts in addressing security concerns across Benue State and its environs, with a focus on strengthening intelligence sharing and operational synergy.
The Nigerian Air Force, under the leadership of Air Marshal Aneke, reiterated its commitment to working closely with relevant stakeholders to deliver responsive and effective air power in support of national security objectives and the protection of civilian populations.
