The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted the public to the recall of Indomie brand Noodles, Vegetable Flavour, following the discovery of undeclared allergens in the product.
In Public Alert No. 041/2025, NAFDAC disclosed that the recall was initiated by French authorities through Rappel Conso of France after laboratory findings revealed the presence of milk and eggs in the product, allergens that were not declared on the label. The agency warned that the undeclared ingredients pose serious health risks to consumers with allergies or intolerances.
NAFDAC noted that although the risk of the affected product entering Nigeria remains low due to the Federal Government’s ban on noodle importation, there is still a possibility of illicit entry through informal channels, online purchases, or international travel.
The agency said it has commenced vigilance and monitoring activities to prevent the circulation of the recalled Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles within the country. It also urged distributors, retailers, and other stakeholders in the supply chain to be alert and ensure the product is not sold or distributed.
Consumers in possession of the affected product have been advised not to consume it but to discard it immediately. NAFDAC further urged the public to report any suspected sale or availability of the implicated Indomie noodle flavour to the nearest NAFDAC office or via its toll-free number, 0800-162-3322.
