Shortly after departing Lagos, the crew detected a technical issue and, in line with established safety procedures and international aviation protocols, carried out a precautionary landing at the nearest suitable airfield in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed that the crew is safe and in good condition and has received warm and cordial support from the host authorities.
He added that necessary arrangements are underway to ensure the mission resumes as scheduled. The Nigerian Air Force expressed appreciation for the assistance received and reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to professionalism, strict adherence to operational procedures, and the highest safety standards in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
