The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to capacity building as a foundation for operational effectiveness with the graduation of 165 personnel from the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Administrative Management (NAFIAM).
The graduands, after three months of intensive upgrading courses in Administration, Music, Physical Education, and Catering, are now better equipped with advanced skills to support the Service. These disciplines play critical roles in enhancing airpower projection by ensuring effective administration, boosting morale through music, sustaining combat readiness through physical fitness, and maintaining troops’ welfare with efficient catering.
Speaking at the event as Special Guest of Honour, the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command (AOC-GTC), Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Shinkafi, emphasized the vital role of training and retraining in sustaining professionalism within the Service. He noted that under the leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the NAF has deliberately prioritized capacity development as a key driver of operational readiness. While congratulating the graduands, he urged them to adopt lifelong learning and apply their new knowledge in strengthening efficiency across their various formations.
In his remarks, the Commandant of NAFIAM, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Yusuf, restated the Institute’s commitment to providing qualitative training in administration, leadership, and human resource management. He disclosed that since June 2023, NAFIAM has trained 18 officers from the Ghana Air Force and currently accommodates personnel from the Nigerian Navy and Ghana Navy, underscoring NAF’s contribution to regional military cooperation.
Through such initiatives, NAFIAM continues to advance excellence and collaboration, while reinforcing the NAF’s reputation as a professional and adaptive force dedicated to safeguarding national and regional security.
