The 8 Division Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force (JTF) North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA has ushered in the festive season with its 2025 Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons, held at Giginya Cantonment, Sokoto, under the leadership of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General Ibikunle Ademola Ajose.
According to a statement by the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, 8 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, the event brought together security and paramilitary agencies, personnel, their families, as well as members of the host community for an evening of music, fellowship and spiritual reflection.
Delivering his goodwill message, Major General Ajose extended warm Christmas greetings to all attendees and expressed gratitude for their presence. The GOC commended officers and soldiers of the Division for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the Division’s Area of Responsibility (AOR).
He described the season as a moment for gratitude and sober reflection, saying, “I want to extend my deepest appreciation to the gallant men and women of the 8 Division for your tireless efforts. Your commitment, in collaboration with our sister agencies, is worth mentioning. It is through this dedication that we can guarantee a peaceful and secure environment for all.”
The carol service featured soul-lifting musical renditions from the Combined Choir of Protestant and Roman Catholic Churches of the 8 Division, the Sokoto Deanery Choir, and the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), among others. The event was also attended by distinguished guests, reflecting the strong inter-agency cooperation in the state.
The 2025 Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons served as a vibrant celebration of unity and faith, reinforcing the bond between the 8 Division Cantonment family and its host community.
